By Siren Allen
While writing Her Alien Protector, I learned a lot about myself as I crafted my heroine’s back story. Lark is strong, like me. Lark is determined to succeed, like me. But Lark sometimes allows her fears to hold her back, like me. As I wrote this story and watched Lark overcome her fears and her obstacles, it caused me to look at my own life. Since writing this book, I’ve taken a new direction in my medical career and my husband and I have purchased a new home.
For a long time both of those things have been on my to-do list. But fear held me back from checking them off. Lark helped me overcome those ‘what if’ fears. Writing this book proved to me that writing is not only my passion, but it can also be inspirational. This is one of the reasons why Her Alien Protector is my favorite book. (But don’t tell my other books that. They may get jealous.) Book two comes out next year and features Lark’s sister, Lola. I can’t wait to see what I learn from her.
Her Alien Protector Description
Falling in love with a prisoner was against the rules.
So why was Lark allowing herself to get close to Raynor? He was domineering, cocky and much too handsome for his own good. Though her mind found him unbearable, her body was ready to endure anything he could deliver. However, she wouldn’t allow herself to fall for him, to trust him. Inside of him lived a darkness unlike anything she’d ever witnessed. If the rumors were true, that darkness would consume any and every one in its path. Lark was going to try her best to stay out of his way.
They called him The Destroyer.
Raynor Batiste was many things: a monster, a killer, one of the most feared creatures in the galaxy. He was a beast whose name sent shudders through his enemies. However, a prisoner he was not. The only reason he’d allowed himself to be captured was so he could claim his mate, Lark Valdese.
That task was proving harder than he’d anticipated. Lark is afraid of what lives inside of him, and she should be. Yet, when her planet comes under attack, the evil lurking inside of him may be the only thing that can save her and her people.
He’s willing to protect her planet, but his aid comes at a price, a price only Lark can pay. Will she give in to the beast in order to save her world? Or is he a greater threat than her enemies?
The grin vanished from his face. “I don’t take orders well.”
Oh really. “Okay,” Lark cocked her head to the side, staring at her captive mockingly. “My bad, Mr. Vampire, sir. I didn’t mean to order you around like you were a prisoner sent here to obey me, which you are. Let me rephrase my request. Mr. Vampire, will you please do as I say and be a good little blood sucker while you’re here? And when Luna returns, please let us enhance you so that you can work in our harem and make us a boatload of currency.” Lark smiled. “Is that better?”
“Yes.” Raynor leaned closer to the table, the darkness in his eyes returning and swirling faster than before. “I especially like the Mr. Vampire part. But, sweet Lark, that wasn’t a discussion either. That was you begging me to behave. I have to admit,” he gave her a wicked grin. “I rather like it when you say please.”
“Forget that,” Lark slammed her hands down on the table. Raynor didn’t flinch. “Do as I say or else.”
“Or else what?”
His cockiness was starting to piss her off.
Siren Allen bio
Author Siren Allen is a writer and lover of all things erotic and romantic. She resides in southern Mississippi where she writes steamy romances that are guaranteed to make you blush. When she’s not listening to the characters in her head and jotting down their adventures, she’s busy working as a travel Clinical Laboratory Technician.
Her weekends are spent writing and having sleepovers for her wonderful nieces and nephews. She loves to travel, preferably with her husband, so he can do all of the driving. She enjoys time with her family, who are just as silly as she is. She doesn’t have any children…yet!
Her hobbies are reading, writing and shopping, though she hates trying on clothing. If she wasn’t a writer or a Laboratory Professional, she swears she would be a Secret Agent.
