On rave reviews, best bdsm reads and other stuff….

I’m having a GOOD week. First, I learned that Unexpected Consequences has been nominated as the best erotic bdsm book of 2011 by The Romance Reviews, and then I found out that Reckless in Moonlight received a rave 4.5 “heart” review from The Romance Studio.

Said the TRS reviewer, “With Reckless in Moonlight author Cara Bristol gives readers what they want – a thrilling and romantic story filled with adventure, passion and touching emotion; a story that they can lose themselves in right from the very beginning. The well-written plot can only be described as steamy, entertaining, dramatic and full of remarkably realistic and well-planned twists and turns within the story making the characters as well as their feelings and actions ring true to life. Reckless in Moonlight delivers a delightful ride readers won’t soon forget.”

Here’s a link to the complete TRS review.

I had wanted to write an older woman/younger man relationship in a real way that explored the advantages and disadvantages.  Few people bat an eye when an older man dates a much younger woman. But when an older woman dates a much younger man, people begin whispering “cougar” in a not-so-complimentary way. What do cougars do? These predatory cats hunt.

But that’s not really the case with older women – in fact a study by AARP revealed that in older woman/younger man relationships, it’s still the man who initiates the contact with the woman.

I’m talking about cougars and Reckless in Moonlight  on Karla Doyle’s blog today. Karla herself wrote an excellent cougar romance called Game Plan, and is interviewing me! Please pop in at Karla’s blog and say hello. Karla Doyle’s Blog.

Finally…as I mentioned, Unexpected Consequences, my novella about a naïve bride who marries a man who practices domestic discipline, is up for best erotic bdsm romance and could use your vote. It’s up to readers whether it wins. TRR voting link.
