In the fall of 2009, my first erotic romance novella, Intimate Submission, had been published by Black Velvet Seductions. It contained some spanking. Early in 2010, I started my first blog on WordPress. It was like throwing a party to which nobody came. I was getting maybe 50 hits a week.
Then one day in 2010 I checked my blog and found I’d had 90 hits already and it wasn’t even 9 a.m. By the end of the day, I’d had over 350. The hits originated from MBS, My Bottom Smarts, which had listed my blog as spanking friendly. 🙂
That was when I knew for sure that there was a large community of people interested in spanking. It so inspired me that I began writing a domestic discipline romance about a naive bride who marries a man who belongs to a secret spanking organization. That became Unexpected Consequences.
Even after the initial blog hit fury wore off, I was still getting 100 hits per day, most from MBS.
Today, MBS-originated hits have dwindled to a few dozen, but my blog routinely averages over 300 hits per day, at least half from the spanko community. And what started as a single book, has become the Rod and Cane Society domestic discipline series (False Pretenses was published in June, and The Feminist and the Dom is tentatively scheduled for release early in 2013. More books are planned as well).
Thank you Bonnie, for the link and the inspiration!
