Cara Reads: February Books of the Month

Cara Reads is a monthly feature in which I list the books I read the previous month. My plan is to post on the first Friday of the month. Most of the reads will be spanking books, although you’ll find some surprises. This month, I had some surprises. Just about each book I read offered something different.

The Adventures of Polly (spanking) by Lucy Appleby – A young woman at loose ends for the summer hires on to work on a cruise ship, but she has no idea what’s in store for her. Most spanking books are either romances or DD. This one is a comedy.

Lily Mine: A Historical Fantasy by Annabel Joseph (historical bdsm) – Jilted by his bigamist wife, a man hires a lookalike to act as wife to avoid ┬áscandal. A rather sweet read by Annabel Joseph who writes edgy stuff.

Successful Self-Publishing (How We Do It, and How You Can too), edited by Shoshanna Evers (nonfiction) – A collection of essays by authors who have successfully self-published. Not a how-to, but plenty of good tips (disclosure: I interviewed Shoshanna about the business side of writing and that interview is in this book). You ┬ácan get this book for free at www.SelfPubBookCovers.Com.

Iniquitous Solace by Penelope Jones and Max (erotic poetry/bdsm) – a collection of poetry about a Dom/sub meeting and growing in their bdsm relationship. A touching, moving read.

All She Wants for Christmas by Paige Tyler (spanking romance) – With a little help from her friends, a woman finds the courage to tell her husband she’d like to be spanked.

Spanking Ms. Whitman by Kate Richards (DD/bdsm, MF) – A boss takes an employee in hand to curb her tardiness. Well written. One of my fave spanking books to date.
