#SatSpanks: A Wife on the Lam reflects on what she’s done…

Greetings, and welcome to Saturday Spankings. I’m out of town this weekend. So is Janelle Gibbs, the heroine of Wife on the Lam in the Coming to Terms domestic discipline anthology to be released by LazyDay Publishing on May 15. To recap: Janelle, who is in a domestic discipline marriage, wanted to celebrate her wedding anniversary in style, but her husband blew it off. So she hopped aboard a plane to take a luxury vacation by herself. Even though she’s bothered by the talkative cowboy seated next to her, she manages to reflect on what’s she’s done:

She’d been so hurt by Brent’s cluelessness she hadn’t thought her actions through to the logical conclusion — how alone she’d feel flying off to an island paradise by herself, how mad her husband would be when he found her note stuck to the fridge by a magnet.

Made you a casserole for dinner. Bake at 375 for 45 min. I went on vacation. See you when you get back from your business trip. Love, Janelle.

She’d been so furious, she’d hesitated whether to add the “love” part. Warm fuzzies had been absent when she scribbled the note.

Wife on the Lam Blurb

After two kids, three moves, and the normal ups and downs of a twenty-two year domestic discipline marriage, Janelle wants to celebrate their wedding anniversary with a luxury vacation. But despite subtle hints like leaving a copy of the Cabana Resort brochure with the Couples’ Getaway Package circled in red on her husband’s golf magazine, Brent misses all the clues. Worse, he has a business trip on their anniversary! Though her bottom might pay for it later, Janelle decides to take her luxury vacation anyway. Leaving a note and a casserole, she flies off to the resort. She’s going to celebrate, with or without him.

If anything proves that he’s slacked off on his duties as head of household, this stunt of Janelle’s does. Brent had booked the Diamond Package at the Cabana Resort to surprise her and planned to present her with the tickets when she took him to airport for his “business trip.” She’s ruined the surprise, but he’s not going to let her ruin their anniversary. It’s time to take his errant wife in hand and get their marriage back on track.

Coming to Terms Blurb

Summer means more than fun and sun, rest and relaxation. For the couples in Coming to Terms, vacation presents a chance to connect, and work through important issues in their domestic discipline relationships. From endeavoring to define DD to missing a DD partner to balancing erotic spanking and disciplinary spanking, these stand-alone stories penned by seven authors of spanking fiction cover a broad spectrum of issues commonly encountered in loving DD relationships. Will the obstacles prove too difficult to overcome? Or will each couple emerge from vacation with their relationships revitalized and stronger than ever?

The other authors of the anthology are: Anastasia Vitsky, Celeste Jones, Sue Lyndon, Renee Rose, Jade Cary, and Alta Hensley.

  1. Though I can understand Janelle being upset by Brent’s apparent forgetfulness, I know she’s going to regret her hastiness once they meet up again. Great snippet, Cara. I can’t wait to read the story in full. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Natasha Knight says:

Looking forward to this story, Cara. I want to know where the big cowboy came into play though? Also, any word on when the next Rod and Cane book is scheduled for release?

    • Cara Bristol says:

The cowboy and Brent both play big roles in this story. Janelle is in a heap of trouble. LOL. Wife on the Lam/Coming to Terms releases on May 15 — and the next Rod and Cane (4), Disciplinary Measures releases — on May 21. Thank you for asking. 🙂

  3. Thianna D says:

LOL OMG – I love the note she left for him.

  4. Lily Harlem says:

Great lines, can’t wait to read this one 🙂

  5. Jenna Jaxon says:

I think she needs to reflect more on just how mad her husband is likely to be. Even if she wasn’t in a DD marriage, this behavior is outrageous! Can’t wait to see the consequences. Loved the snippet. I tweeted.

    • Cara Bristol says:

Thank you, Jenna. I’m interested to see how readers react to her behavior and Brent, when he tracks her down.

  6. When a man blows off a chance to celebrate his wedding anniversary “in style”, he should expect “no warm fuzzies” in return… Love this guided chemistry…

  7. Susan Arden says:

Delicious set and I’m ready for more. Coming to Terms looks to be a sizzling read.

  8. Paloma Beck says:

Oh, the guilt she’s going to have later if she’s already beginning to feel it now.

  9. Renee Rose says:

Oh yeah, that impulsive move was a very bad idea…

  10. marysuewehr says:

I can’t wait for this book to come out!

  11. At least she didn’t leave an angry note that she would’ve regretted even more. Can’t wait to read it.

  12. She’ll be feeling the ‘warm and fuzzies’ soon enough, just a little lower. Great snippet Cara 🙂

  13. Casey McKay says:

Ha! I love her note, and she was so angry she hesitated to write Love. Who hasn’t been there? Can’t wait to read more!

  14. Uh oh. She’s gonna be in biiiiiiig trouble. I’m glad she’s having second thoughts. This looks like a fun book. I’m looking forward to its release.

  15. Sue Lyndon says:

I laughed out loud at the note she left her husband when I was reading this story! Made you a casserole…went on vacation…LOL.
