#8Sunday: All he wants is one thing…from Captured by the Cyborg

instagram stranded

Greetings, Weekend Writing Warriors! Before I get to today’s snippet I have a couple of announcements. First, I goofed last week. I was traveling (that’s my excuse), and I did post an execerpt–but I forgot to sign up! You can see the post here, if you’re interested.

Second, the first book of the Cy-Ops Sci-fi Romance series, Stranded with the Cyborg, is on sale for 99 cents — but today is the last day. If you haven’t read it, now is your chance to grab it before the price goes up to $4.99 tomorrow.

Now on with this weekend excerpt from Captured by the Cyborg (Cy-Ops Sci-fi Romance 3).  After a “romantic” interlude in the observatory, Illumina runs out (She has a reason. You have to read the book to find out why). Dale had hoped  she would get over it. But alas… (we’re in her POV here).

Captured_600x900“Then, I won’t bother you anymore.” He ran a hand over his head, and she remembered how his cropped hair had bristled again her palm.  “Tell me one thing,” he said.

“What?”

“Your name.”

“M-my name? Illumina Smith.”

“Your real name.”

“T-that is my real name.”

His expression shuttered, and he assumed his place behind his desk in an obvious dismissal.

Captured by the Cyborg Description

Sometimes the biggest risk is to one’s heart….

reviewertoppick2 (1)An ex-Cyber Operations field agent, Dale Homme has kissed danger and betrayal more times than he cares to count. Now he runs a clandestine factory beneath the surface of the moon Deceptio, where confidentiality and security matter more than anything. When a beautiful young woman arrives seeking a job, Dale knows within minutes she’s lying. Everything about her is false: her past, the people she claims to know, her reason for being on Deceptio. Illumina Smith? Even her name is an alias.

Logic says send her packing. His gut says she’s in trouble. She needs him. So he’ll do anything to keep her safe….even if it means keeping her captive.

Captured by the Cyborg is third in the Cy-Ops Sci-fi Romance series but is written to be read as a stand-alone novella.

  12. Hm, does he know more about her name than she’s letting on, or is he assuming she’s lying? Intriguing. Nice snippet!
