Ten percent of the first month’s royalties of Pets in Space will benefit Hero-Dogs.org, an organization that trains service animals exclusively for veterans. Today, Veteran’s Day, is the day to purchase Pets in Space and have 10 percent to Hero-Dogs.

Dogs can assist with helping a person stand, sit or walk, alert him/her to sounds, retrieve items, open cabinets, operate light switches, wake a person from a nightmare, and seek help in an emergency.

“We will train dogs to meet the needs of Veterans with multiple disabilities – mobility challenges, hearing loss, effects of chronic illness, and/or mental health conditions. Other assistance dog organizations traditionally train a dog for a single purpose only (e.g., leading the blind, aiding the hearing impaired).” – Hero-Dog.org
