Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors. Today’s mini excerpt is from Mated with the Cyborg, my newly released science fiction romance. To catch you up to date, Mariska is being sent by her father to become an alien’s concubine, which will result in her death. Kai, a cyborg who is undercover as a service android, wants to save her, but can’t. The only thing he can do is try to talk her out of going. In this scene, in her POV, he has come to escort her to the shuttle that will take her away.
Other than her emotions, she had nothing to hide. She would miss many things, but being watched wasn’t one of them. It would be a relief to relax her guard once in a while and perhaps release some of her despair without being judged.
Thunk. The android dropped the statue.
“I apologize,” he said, but, after picking it up, he dropped it again. The spy device, half the size of her smallest fingernail, popped out. When he bent to retrieve the icon, he accidentally stepped on the transmitter and crushed it. Oblivious to the destruction, he set the emblem back on the table.
What was wrong with him today?
What is wrong with him? Will he get to speak to her without being overhead? Will it do any good? Find the answers in Mated with Cyborg, available here:
Kai Andros’s orders were simple. Get in. Gather the intel on the terrorist organization. Get out. Then he met her. Mariska. Beautiful. Innocent. Ignorant of her father’s atrocities. And marked for death. His orders said nothing about saving her. But he did. He went off-mission. Can a rogue cyborg outrun both Cyber Operations and the terrorists to save the woman he loves?
Mated with the Cyborg is an action-packed erotic sci-fi romance between a man with a mission and a woman with a secret that jeopardizes their lives and the fate of the galaxy.
