And the official title of ‘The Feminist and Dom’ is….

Body Politics! That’s the new title of the third Rod and Cane Society series novel, previously dubbed “The Feminist and the Dom.”

I found out about a week ago that my publishers wanted a title more in keeping with the other two Rod and Cane books, e.g., two words, adjective, plural noun. After blogging about the need for a name change, I learned from people who commented that the feminist angle was a hook, so I wanted to keep a connection to feminism in the title.

Body Politics, I think, does that. The issue of women having control over their bodies is a key feminist issue, and it is important to Stephanie Gordon in Body Politics. Will she allow herself to be spanked or won’t she? Will she put her body in man’s hands?

If you missed the previous news, the release date will be January 8, 2013! And, once again, here’s an unofficial blurb:

Feminist Stephanie Gordon knows the instant she meets blind date Mark DeLuca it’s not going to work. Sure the deputy chief of police is criminally sexy, but he’s arrogant, domineering and sexist. Thank goodness after the evening ends, she’ll never have to see him again.

A member of the Rod and Cane Society, an organization of men who spank, Mark DeLuca is attracted to Stephanie like a paddle to a well-rounded ass. He sees beneath the shield of feminist militancy to the soft, sensitive woman she tries to hide. When she storms away in a snit, the chase is on. Can a Dom convince a diehard feminist her true strength lies in submission?

The Rod and Cane Society series is about a secret organization of men who spank their wives to maintain discipline in the home. Each book can be enjoyed as a stand alone, but if you do read them in order, you’ll see the society grow and change. The first book is Unexpected Consequences; the second is False Pretenses.

Hi Ana! When I lived in Washington state, I scheduled my blogs to post around 3 a.m. PST after discovering that I got a lot of late night visitors. But then I moved to the Midwest, and now I’m on Central time, and I continue to post at 3 a.m., but of course, that’s two hours earlier now. Occasionally I don’t post until 5 a.m.
