Cover Reveal…A Sexual and Spanking Thesaurus for authors…

You may have noticed (or maybe not) that the “spanking thesaurus” has disappeared from my blog. That’s because I have turned it into a book! I’ve expanded it to include a full range of sexual synonyms, plus more spanking categories and words. Naughty Words for Nice Writers, A Sexual and Spanking Thesaurus will be released in ebook and paperback formats late February or early March. If you’d like to receive an email when it’s available, sign up for my new release newsletter.

Naughty Words for Nice Writers blurb

If you’ve struggled to find the right tone for your romantic sex scene, stared at the computer for 15 minutes trying to come up with the right verb, become stymied because some terms are too crude while others are too flowery, or found yourself reusing the same words over and over, Naughty Words for Nice Writers, A Sexual and Spanking Thesaurus can help you break through those barriers. Cara Bristol, the author of 17 erotic romances, has written a guide to help you find the erotic words to write a sex scene that sizzles.

Naughty Words for Nice Writers is packed with more than 1,200 usable, functional synonyms geared for romance, erotic romance, and erotica. Included are 28 different “erotic word lists” such as male and female anatomy, foreplay, orgasm, specific sexual acts and kink, sexual noises, spanking terminology and much more. The guide offers suggestions on how to write a sex scene, and how to tighten your writing so it sings.

With an emphasis on verbs, this guide will help you “show” the intimacy between your characters rather than tell it. Whether you’re writing a “fade to black” scene or a graphic and explicit one, Naughty Words for Nice Writers will give you the words.

♥ I owe a big thank you to author Celeste Jones who suggested the title Naughty Words for Nice Writers, and to Sweet ‘N Spicy Designs who designed the awesome cover and made the title pop! ♥

    • Cara Bristol says:

Thank you, SJ. I LOVE the cover. It is one of my all-time most favorite, favorite covers. I love the way Jaycee of Sweet ‘N Spicy Designs made the words stand out. It’s like an optical illusion: First you see Words for Writers, then you see Nice and Naughty. And of course, Celeste gave me the perfect title. If not for her, it would have been called something boring like A Sexual and Spanking Thesaurus.

  7. Sue Lyndon says:

  11. James Young says:

This will be great. I don’t write erotica, but this will definitely help “fade to gray / black” scenes. 😀

  12. So the purple headed yogurt sprayer didn’t make it to the thesaurus? SHOCKED. I am utterly devastated ~Grin~ Ask your other half if he’s got any more hiding… I was in fits of giggles this morning 🙂 xox

  13. Alexis Duran says:

I thank you, and my editor thanks you.
