False Pretenses: someone is not who he/she says….

Imposter: n. one that assumes the false identity or title for the purpose of deception.

In Unexpected Consequences, Melania Traynor marries a man who firmly practices the principles of domestic discipline. She marries him knowing he might spank her if she disobeys, but she’s naïve enough to believe that that day will never occur – or if it does, she’ll be able to wheedle her way out of it by employing feminine wiles.

Melania is who she appears to be, a naïve, somewhat spoiled bride, deeply in love with her husband Jared.

Jared is the vice president of the Rod and Cane Society, a organization of men who spank their wives to maintain discipline at home. It’s a secret club, its members bound by confidentiality agreements, allowing them the freedom to express their beliefs openly and freely within the organization’s mansion headquarters.

Through Jared, Melania gets to know several other members of the Rod and Cane Society and its offshoot for women, the Wives Auxiliary.

But one of the people Melania meets is not who he or she claims to be. One of them is an infiltrator, an imposter who is determined to expose the Rod and Cane Society.

That individual is the main character of False Pretenses, the next Rod and Cane Society story to be released in June 2012 by Loose Id.

Do you know who the imposter is? If you do, you could win a copy of False Pretenses when it’s released. In May, I’ll be having a contest for Unexpected Consequences readers. All you have to do is tell me who you think the imposter is. I’ll post the contest on my blog in May. So get ready…
