Organized clutter…the office of author Eve Langlais #AuthorsInSpace

By Eve Langlais

My office is in my house on the main floor. It used to be the combined living room dining room space. Since we never used it, it became my office. Now the family congregates in the family room off the kitchen instead. . As you can see, it’s not the tidiest of places, which is funny because elsewhere in the house, clutter drives me mental. But, when I am working, I am usually dealing with multiple things at once so everything on that messy desk has a purpose. My agenda keeps me straight. I have daily and weekly tasks in there and am lost without it. I have my new book checklist. Again, totally needed lol. And then my notes. All kinds of scribbles all over my desk about books, tasks other ideas lol. For me, this is a controlled sort of chaos. I know what’s on my desk and I know when someone’s touched it. (Die!)

Now you might think wow, nice desk, nice space. And it is! I get great morning sunlight, but the drawback is it’s not always quiet lol. The doors to my office are rarely closed (the dogs cry if I do even though there is a second door from the kitchen). I have seats across from my desk because that’s where my family will park themselves to chat. As a result I’m quite good as multi tasking lol. I now have my swag compartmentalized in that cubby system you see in the pics.

Although, that organization is usually destroyed when I’m close to conference time. Under my desk, what office is complete without 2 dog beds (the small one is for the bigger dog who likes to splay his limbs out of it) and a pink shark house for the cats. Because you know, pink shark! LOL. But this is where the magic occurs. It’s not glamorous, but it works. I recently thought about getting a whiteboard from somewhere like I’m always jotting notes down and a whiteboard would look so cool in this office – don’t you think!?

She likes to blame her twisted imagination for her sarcastic sense of humor which tends to heavily influence her stories. She enjoys writing about strong alpha males, and shifters. Lots of big, overprotective shifters that need the right woman to temper their wild side–and unleash the lover. She loves to write, and while she might not always know what her mind is going to come up with next, she does promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because she believes in a happily ever after.

Mr. Peabody’s House

A haunted house becomes the focus of a demonic investigation so Brenda teams up with a trio of werewolves to solve the mystery. But when the house eats her, can they find a way to save her?

I met a trio of furballs when my BFF was dealing with a demon issue and since then, I can’t stop thinking about them.

When the chance to investigate a possessed house appears on my desk—after I filch it from someone else’s—I know it’s fate we team up again.

However, I might have bitten off more than I can chew because suddenly my hunky puppies are demanding I become their permanent chew toy.

Me, mated? Eek, but also yum.? Did I mention they totally make my body purr?

Before we can indulge in a sweatily-ever-after, though, they’ll need to save me from Mr. Peabody’s house, because I do believe it ate me.

  1. The pink shark bed makes the space one of my faves lol. Now I want one for the cat. LOL. I understand controlled chaos. My day job office was like that except I was post note crazy. Colored tags on everything

  2. I really enjoy this series. Seeing where others write can be inspiring. Thanks!

Thanks for visiting and commenting. I’m very curious where my fellow authors write, I thought maybe others would be, too.

lol, the only time you see my desk (and it gets a proper clean) is if I finish a book midweek. Then I spend the rest of that week cleaning off my desk and catching up on other stuff. Thanks for sharing my chaos 😉

  4. Love the shark bed. Very fun!
